Conference USA 2013 Football Schedule

Conference USA has announced its football schedule for the 2013 season. The 14-team alignment for the 2013 season will feature each team playing eight conference games, along with four non-league contests.
FIU's 2013 schedule is highlighted with games against Allstate Sugar Bowl champion Louisville, Beef 'O' Brady St. Petersburg Bowl champion UCF and R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl participant East Carolina. In addition, FIU will be facing ECU, Louisiana Tech, UAB, Southern Miss and UTEP for the first time in school history. FIU played current C-USA member Marshall in the 2011 Beef 'O' Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl.

FIU Homecoming will take place on Oct. 12 versus the UAB Blazers.
"We are very pleased with the way our schedule was structured in our first Conference USA season," said Head Coach Ron Turner. "It is good to have all four non-conference games at the front-end of the schedule, then a bye week before we head into league play. We have a solid home schedule for our fans to rally behind their team and school."
The 2013 alignment will feature seven teams in both the East and West Divisions. East Carolina, FAU, FIU, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss and UAB comprise the East Division, while Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Rice, Tulane, Tulsa, UTEP and UTSA make up the West Division.
Each school will play every team in its division once for six games, while playing two cross-over opponents from the opposite division. The 2013 schedule has 14 playing weeks, which provides for two open dates for each team. The schedule is a one-year model, meaning that as the conference lineup changes for the 2014 season, opponents may change and locations of games for that season are not yet determined.
A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date. Conference USA's national television partners are Fox Sports Media Group and CBS Sports Network for regular season games. The league's ninth annual Championship Game, pitting the champions of the East and West Divisions, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 and will be televised by ESPN or ESPN 2.
Please note that all games are subject to date changes.
"This is a great conference home schedule in our first season in Conference USA," said FIU Executive Director for Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia. "We have three current Conference USA schools, along with new member Louisiana Tech, coming to Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium. It will also be a great experience to go on the road to Southern Miss and UTEP, while traveling to familiar stops at FAU and Middle Tennessee. This is a schedule I know our fans will enjoy."
FIU fans can enjoy a great football schedule with a purchase or renewal of season tickets. 2013 season ticket information is currently available at FIUSports.com, and can be purchased or renewed by calling the FIU Athletics Ticket Office at (305) 348-GAME.
