DB Commit: 'FIU making big strides'

Earlier this morning PantherRage.com got a hold of 2017 FIU commit, Marlin Brooks and asked him few questions about his commitment to FIU and how the recruiting process is going.

The 3-star WR/CB out of Miami, Florida (Coral Gables High School) spoke with us on his commitment to FIU and his expectations for the season.

Moving on from Columbus to Coral Gables, what's your biggest goal for yourself in the upcoming season?

"Personally I would like to break the Gables receiving record which is around 890 yards, I'd like to break the 1,000 mark. Defensively I'd like to have an abundance of different types of turnovers and not allow any big plays on me!"

Why did you pick FIU?

"FIU has been recruiting me since the beginning of my junior year and they have been consistent with it. I have visited there plenty of times and really liked the school yet alone the football program. There coaching staff has been real with me and Coach Turner made it clear how big it would be for me to jump on board with them. I also love how there 2017 recruiting class looks and how there program is really making big strides in the right direction!"

How strong is your commitment to FIU?

"Right now I'm about 80% committed to fiu, I'm really excited to see what they do this upcoming season and how things go on my official visit. The other 20% is just open to any school that has offered me cause at the end of the day I want to give every school a fair chance."

We know that you recently started playing two positions now: WR and CB. Do you have a favorite?

"I like WR more due to the fact that I can change the result of the game in the matter of one catch, I feel like every time I touch the ball I have a good chance of putting points up on the board. I LOVE THE ENDZONE."

Look for Marlin to have a big season at Gables on both sides of the ball and stay strong on his commitment with the Panthers.
